Visibility should not depend on a vehicle’s headlights being pointed at you. Our LED safety vest with active light makes you truly visible.
What is active visibility?
Traditional high-visibility clothing relies on reflection. You are only seen when someone else shines light on you.
Active visibility works differently.
The garment creates the visibility. Not the surroundings, not other vehicles.
You are detected earlier, more clearly, and in more situations where reflective visibility alone is not enough.
Vad är aktiv synbarhet?
Traditionella varselkläder bygger på reflex. Du syns först när någon annan lyser på dig.
Aktiv synbarhet fungerar annorlunda.
Plagget skapar synligheten. Inte omgivningen, inte andra fordon.
Du uppfattas tidigare, tydligare och i fler situationer där reflex inte räcker till.
Why is reflection not enough?
Reflection works well under ideal conditions. But reality rarely looks like that.
The light comes from the wrong angle
The background is complex or bright
Multiple light sources interfere with each other
The contrast against the surroundings is low
Research shows that people are then detected too late.
You can meet Class 3 requirements and still be detected too late.
Du kan uppfylla klass 3 kraven och ändå bli upptäckt för sent.
Varför räcker inte reflex?
Reflex fungerar bra i idealiska förhållanden. Men verkligheten ser sällan ut så.
Ljuset kommer från fel vinkel
Bakgrunden är komplex eller ljus
Flera ljuskällor stör varandra
Kontrasten mot omgivningen är låg
Forskning visar att människor då upptäcks sent.
Early detection changes everything
Being detected early can be the difference between a safe situation and an accident. Active visibility helps you be seen from farther away and, most importantly, earlier, giving drivers and machine operators more time to react and act.
More time to avoid accidents
Safer working environments for everyone involved
The image shows how early a driver can detect a person in darkness.
Dark clothing: approx. 27 m High-visibility clothing: approx. 135 m Active light: over 800 m
Active light → earlier detection Active light → better human recognition Active light→ works in more environments
The future is here
The development of active visibility is driven by research and standardization within occupational safety and traffic safety. Germany is currently leading the way and has developed DIN TS 91418, which is expected to form the basis for future harmonized EN standards. The work has been driven by the following organizations:
DGUV (German Social Accident Insurance) German organization for occupational safety and accident prevention
IFA (Institute for Occupational Safety and Health of the DGUV) Research institute that tests and develops protective equipment
DIN (German Institute for Standardization) Standardization body behind DIN TS 91418
Together, these organizations have developed guidelines and test methods for high-visibility clothing with active lighting.
The conclusion is clear. Active light helps people get detected earlier.
Visibility in practice
The difference between passive and active visibility becomes clear when conditions are not perfect. Here you can see how they perform in practice, not just in theory.
